Damian McBride's stupid and foolish juvenile behaviour has cost him his job. The first foolish aspect of his action was to overlook the possibility that in this interconnected, digitally permeable, computer mediated society opinions get passed around at the speed of light. His second most foolish mistake was to think that he as an adult senior advisor to the Prime Minister he could indulge in churlish ideas to smear members of the opposition. This is the stuff of the school yard not government.

To blame someone else for your personal oversights is the most foolish thing of all.
